Bit of UK Funky

June 16, 2009

UK Funky genre summary:

  • Sound of the summer, obviously.
  • High shit to awesome ratio, but the awesome stuff really is awesome.
  • Takes interesting bits of the past (UKG, house) and the present (dubstep) and refits them for 2009 dancefloor action.
  • Liked by old dudes and new producers.
  • Mp3s pretty hard to get hold of except as low quality radio rips.
  • Girls can dance to it.

Check out this MJ Cole track, it’s really excellent: Gotta Have It (MJ’s Funky Dubb).
